Kylie -US Tour

No words can describe my love for Kylie! It’s indeed an obsession! Her music has always been part of my life, and I’ve been dying to see her live since FOREVER!

Finally the time has come; Kylie’s first North American tour arrived. I still can’t believe I was there on her first night in New York, just few feet away from the stage… still a bit in shock just for seeing Kylie in person, let alone that up front and close!

Enough for the giggling like a little girl, haha! No doubt about it that Kylie is a great performer like all the rest pop divas, but with her non-stop 2 hour live-singing beyond amazing voice, there’s just no comparison.

I love Kylie to death, I wish she’ll be back to tour again soon, then again and again.

Patrick Swayze - Dirty Dancing

1987, “Dirty Dancing” was IT! Patrick Swayze was IT, I can’t recall how many time I saw that movie, mostly because the huge crush on him. As a teenager, or any gay guy in that matter, u just can’t keep ur eyes off him; the body the smile, let alone the dance.

1990, he took over the world again with “Ghost”. We all know the real star here is Whoopi, but I believe no one would ever forget the word “ditto” and that classic pottery scene with never-ending “Unchained Melody” in the background! Indeed, he conquered my heart and the rest of the world once more!

2009, he lost the battle with cancer. Even tho I only watched another movie or 2 of his for almost 20 years, and even tho I kinda expect he might pass away sooner or later since he’s fighting for his life for the past 20 month…It was still very sadden to hear the news.

I know it’s gonna sound cheesy now, but I’ll always remember “the time of my life” with u, Mr. Swayze! You’ll always be my ultimate teen crush!

Underworld: Rise of the Lycans

"Twilight", "True Blood"...recently, human and vampires can't seem to get enough of each other, the taste of forbidden fruit never been so sweet, and popular!

In the universe of Underworld, the intertwining love, hate relationship is between lycans (werewolf) and vampires, no human involved. I like the idea a lot, because the taboo here is pushed even further since both of them are "outsider".

This so called "forbidden love" is widely beloved these days, I guess it's easier for people to put aside the difference when the object is mystical creature.

The reality is, can people really look past the race? the religion? the sexuality? And see the 2 unit as nothing but love itself? Would people embarrass it as the same as they do to the popular culture?   

And there's prop 8, go figure...

Up

Best movie ever! At least in recent years. Everything about this movie is superb, way beyond my expectation and I love love love it!

It's not the first time I cry in the theater, but it is the first time I cried within the first 5 minutes! At that point, it simply toped all my movie viewing experiences.

I won't go to any details here because I ain't gonna be a spoiler, everybody should go see the movie, it makes me laugh so hard as well as touches my heart so deeply, again, it just unbelievably superb in every way!

One last thing, I feel so blessed that I was holding my baby's hand though out those unforgettable moments, knowing that our adventure together has just begun (anyone who saw the movie would know what I meant), it's the most wonderful feeling in the world!

Vicky Cristina Barcelona

We all  fantasies about 3some from time to time, but what really fascinating to me is a trio love in a day to day basis. I have no doubt it would work, but sometimes I can't help to wonder, how dose it feel like?

Anyway, I really like the approach to the subject in this movie, the relationship between Juan Antonio and María Elena was always loving but unstable because they were missing something, and that missing link is Christina.

It's very unique point of view to see 3 as 1 instead of 2, I don't know if there were any subtext here, but I like to think there's a massage here for us to focus on love more then anything else.

Christina said she feels natural to make love to María Elena, and that 3 of them all contribute to the relationship. There, the answer to my question about how it feels like to be in a threes company; I guess there's no difference then having only one lover.

Because love happens naturally, 3 is a bit complcate then 2, but they are nothing but numbers.

Sense and Sensibility

Watched the movie again after all these years, I think I have more understanding about what Ang Lee's clever take on the great Novel.

The last scene that Willoughby sadly looking over the Wedding as Colonel Brandon tossing coins in the air, it got me think a lot about love and bread (money/wealth), I can't help but ask myself which one will I pick when there's only one choice, love or bread?

Don't get me wrong, I believe in the power of love, but I do think love has less chance to survive without any financial support. One don't have to be rich to be happy, but a little money helps.

So will I pick bread over love? I don't think so, the reason is simple; true love is hard to find, but u can always make more money in the future.

There's no guarantee that money will definitely come along, but what if it did? Wouldn't u regrate that the love of ur life is not around to share with u because u pick bread at the first place? I would for the rest of my life.

Slumdog Millionaire

2 days away from the Oscar, will this underdog movie win the best picture? I should hope so!

The movie is very well done, mouth by mouth, I believe everyone knows by now. Surprisingly, it is super upbeat even tho the story is a serious of tragic events, that's what makes this film so special, well, not just that, I think it's special because there's a lot heart in it!

Jamal (the lead character) has such a pure heart yet he grew up with nothing, when I look at the life they live in the slum, I can't help but feeling blessed that how lucky I am to have a such wonderful life.

His truthfulness and determination won him the money and the girl in the end, and we people in the theater all cheered  for him.

It sounds like I am also in the movie too, the part that when whole country watching he won the million dollars, they just can't stop cheering for him. I do hope the same thing will happen at the Oscar, this great movie is totally deserve it!

Milk

It's always nice to see a biography movie, not only u get entertained, but also u learn a piece of history about a great person that u might never heard of before.

If not for this movie, I prob won't know the achivement that Harvey Milk did for the gay community and Humanity, because all this happened when I was still a kid.

Same thing about Beatrix Potter, I know what a wonderful author she is and all her famous illustrations, but I have no idea about what she did to preserve the lake district. Well, not until I saw Miss Potter !

I was amazed by both movies, even tho they are in totally different kinda tone. I shed tears over both in the end, and glad that I came to see them, even more, I'm very grateful and honor to learn their contributions to mankind.

Birtney - For The Record

I watched the documentary the other night, it almost brought me to tears. The reason is simply to see her get out of all the mess and back to her feet again, truly happy for her.

Can u imagine that it's been 10 yrs since Hit Me Baby One More Time? It all seems like yesterday when she in that cute school outfit!

I believe a lot people feel the same way as me, because we all grew up with her, we all want nothing but the best for her, besides, I have always been a fan.

Music wise, Circus is nice, like the old Britney we love. But I personally like last album Blackout a lot more, there are some creative new stuff that amazed me, I didn't know she has that in her!

 I guess "lose control" sometimes is not all bad.

Madonna - Sticky & Sweet Tour

I've been a fan for 20 yrs, I've been waiting my whole life to see Madonna live, this is truly my dream come true.

The concert is amazing as always, the Spanish festival them which she dose it in every tour is just fantastic. U would think she's been pushing the envelope all her career, but she's also been pushing Latin music in all her albums too, and I really really commend her for that.

My favorite performance is "She's Not Me". She sings "she's not me, and she never will be" to 4 female dancers that dress as her in different looks in the past, and then tears down their wigs and clothes at the same time.

For the queen of re-invention with the ever changing music and images, that is so hysterical and brilliant!

And thx baby, I had the best time in my life!
